I bought a Monster Rod when they had the Black Friday deal. They had 20% off everything for about 4 days or so. That helped me out with the shipping cost at least. The rod looks great . I put a new Abu Garcia 6500 on it and and can’t wait to break it in this spring.
Lord my problem is I can't have just one passion, several times in the past 20 or so years I have said "I have all the guns I could ever need" but before I knew it I was having to buy another gun safe to hold the ones I acquired after that. Of course the 66 GTO ate a bunch of capital, then the switch from Bass fishing to Cat fishing, a couple hundred steel traps, several high dollar **** dogs plus equipment. If I had taken up golf and stuck with golf when I got home from overseas I might be a wealthy man now.
lol, Jay i have a brotherinlaw that golfs around the country, and he spends about the same amount as me, it aint cheap either. And my pics of fish and dead animals are much better to look at, than his pics of a hole in one.
Update: I finally got out for the first time to use that new TWC Monster Rod. I landed a 7 lb. flathead with it. Not a beast but I’ll just call it a break in fish.
Good flathead Steve. Don't want to put too much on that nice rod all at once. lol
Thanks for the pic.
