I got ahold of American upholstery in Lincoln, MO and they make them they said to start from scratch would be 2500.00 with stainless frame, 7 year war. on the canvas
I couldn't believe the difference in one of those in the winter, you didn't have to wear your coat, they had a 2 burner unit on top of a gas bottle the size you have for your outdoor grill and it was so warm and perfect for those winter cats which by the way were just standing in line to take the shad too!
I’ll drink to that. Was very happy to have a full enclosure and a mr
buddy heater when snaggin opened last spring. Thermometer on the truck said 18* when we were puttin in.
I haven’t got to catfish in the winter time yet, but wanting to try it. One of these custom enclosure would be nice for sure. I guess the blues bite pretty good in the winter. This is my first year into catfish only but I’m already hooked lol
Mine is going under the knife in Lincoln, MO at American Upholstery Monday the 30th. Mine is a full one off custom as I have a SS structure/tower built already and will have to be custom fit to what I have. A little more expensive than him starting from scratch but wish me luck that I get the fit and attention to detail that I requested. My request was for an excellent tight fitting job. Told him I wasn't shopping for a bargain. Stay tuned.................
Well, you guys got my interest up. I have done some fishing in the winter but sure hate freezing my butt off. I have a 2070 Lowe, tiller model so almost all open floor space. I can't dive into an expensive enclosure right now but I can rig up an inexpensive one.
A ground blind for hunting is what I use for a temporary enclosure. I found one that pops up and folds down in less than a minute. Has enough room for two people to sit comfortably and hold in the heat from a buddy heater pretty good
I’m think I’m going to try fishing this winter without the full enclosure unless I can get something figured out on loz, I’m having problems finding bigger fish I’m catching a few slots [very few] and a lot of smaller fish. I got a feeling I’ll have problems catching shad too.
I could just imagine finding them with depth finder and then trying to throw on them [blind] in deep water but I’ll give it a try lol. Be my first time getting shad in winter. I got some learning to do. The full enclosure would be nice and I really want my bemini top to connect to the windshield for rain while moving which would be part of the full enclosure
Most nets you find in the stores aren't meant for deep water use. The mesh is too small, not enough weight, and the overall diameter isnt big enough to catch shad in 40 ft.
I use a 12 ft mono net with 1/2 inch mesh and 1.5 weight with a 50 foot line. Not a net you can just pick up at Cabelas either and not cheap, but it makes catching deep water shad 1000 times easier. Just hover over the biggest bait ball you can find and let it sink a few feet past what you see on the sonar and pull it up. Make sure the net opens well when you toss it and don' let it touch bottom or toss it over timber.
Got my enclosure from American Upholstery finished - six foot tall space in the cabin area, stainless steel bimini structure with four zip in walls - windows all around and rollup doors fore and aft. Craftmanship throughout - these guys do it right!

Each side is a separate panel that zips in - you don't have to put up all four if you don't want to. About a minute per wall to zip in and snap at the bottom.
