I don't know about the rest of you, but I love fall catfishing. I have the lakes pretty much to myself at night, and loving the quiet. Wife and I went last night, and she sure enjoyed the peace and quiet. We got serenaded by 3 different coyote packs at the same time too! Catching 4 catfish ranging fro 4 to 17 pounds was kinda cool also. I have noticed that I tend to get bigger fish in the fall. Does anyone else feel this way? My pb from came from one area lake on Halloween night, 27 pound channel. CPR'd that fattie! Our rule is nothing kept over 10 pounds. And we catch a lot of big fish. How are the rest of you doing now?
Got a limit of channels last night. Strong winds were a bear, had to take off my bells and just watch. They were from 3 to 8 pounds, all on shrimp. Was a good night.
My wife and I love fall fishing too!! It's big fish time for us at Truman. Through the years spent there camping and now we have a camper on a slab with all the comforts we look forward to the coming month or so. All of our big blues have come when you need a real coat on as my picture shows. We drift and we anchor up and we use fresh shad or green sunfish for bait but Truman is still too warm, just got back from a week and the water is still 68* and the fishin was poor at best
I really have no idea on water temps. I just know the bite has been awesome at night, between 8 and 10:30 or so. Water still feels warm to me. We have been fishing into the wind, and the harder it blows, the better!
