Thats a nice fish :smile2:, I always fish rivers and reserviors, but once in a while its nice to go back to a pond and throw a couple lines out. I learned to fish from ponds and its always relieving to not worry about all the fuss to get the boat ready and just get straight into some fishing :tounge_out:
my cousin has a 10 acre pond that he caught a 50 and 60 pound flatheads on trotlines out of it. they eat up everything in that small of a pond. he pretty much got rid of the catfish out of it. now its stocked with flordia bass!
Here are a few pics of some pond caught fish. This pond has yielded fish up to 50lb, rumor is some larger ones have ben released. Guys relocate large ones from tournaments here. Turns out I can only post 1 photo or 2 since others have been previously shown. First flathead was 42in and around 40lbs maybe a little more.
a channel that was around 15 pounds on my profile, on cut carp. saw a guy at a pond here called mcdonald lake here catch a 23 pound channel. it was caught on a black jig.
20# even Channel Cat caught trolling a dead creek chub about 3-5' from the bank. He was released right after within 1 or 2 minutes. I didn't have a cam with me because we were mainly Crappie fishing.....:confused2::smile2:
That was my PB Channel ever, would have loved to have pics of it but their stored upstairs.....:big_smile:
one of my friends from school caught 23lb flat head out of a normal sized pond, on live perch late at night.
