Aside from catfishing I love to panfish, more for a fish fry. I was thinking after I fillet the bluegills I catch, it'll probably be a good idea to save the heads and gut pockets, right?

That's my GO TO BAIT (bluegill heads, gut pockets) during the summer months. And my kids catch me plenty!:biggrin1:

Without a doubt! The head with the gut pocket hanging out is the perfect medicine for big channels.

Some of the old timers would cut my hands off if I got rid of that stuff in the lake.:smile1:

  6. i like to put the guts in a jar with a little bit of cooking oil and dip a sponge in and sock up the juices i catch some 5lbers with it it gives the kids a good rush

I agree--a very good "go to" bait
