Hi everybody Im New to the BOC Im headed down to Prizer Point in Lake Barkley in two weeks. I fished there last year and caught quite a few smaller fish but I wanna reel in some bigger cats this time any info yall can give me would be greatly appreciated.

if yer goin after bigger cats try using skipjack or shad,even bluegill work good as cut bait.havent ever fished barkley but i've heard its pretty good.i fish the ohio river alot while i'm up there in ky visitin my folks in elizabethtown.i mainly use skipjack.hope this helps.

Adam, Welcome to the BOC/SOC :cool2:. I don't know anything about your area but I agree with the above info. Skip Jack and fresh shad as a general rule will net you bigger fish in most cases.

Welcome to the BOC Adam. A good rule of thumb for catching bigger fish is use bigger bait and use bait that is native to the water your fishing--good luck!!

Welcome !!!!! And use fresh cut bait preferably from the waters you are fishing. A castnet is a good investment for collecting baitfish !!!

Thank you all for the info. we lucked in to one big cat last year at Barkley we caught it on a Jug the scale we had would not weigh that high but we are thinkin it weighed about 70 lbs. Any info I can get will help alot thanks again everybody.
