I want to try this with stinkbait..........
It's a treble with Scotchbrite strips attached to it........to help absorb and hold the stinky stuff.............

give me some critical points about it please.........

will it work on a r and r dropped straight down in a hole?

why not?

what do some of you veterans think?

Seems to me your hook would need to fight to get through the scotchbrite..

Just get you a couple of Looper Rigs.. At $1.75 a pair, I would think they would be cheaper than scotchbrite pads and work a whole lot better.. He has them in pretty much any configuration you'd want, kahle, circle, treble, etc.

The first thing that catches my eye is lack of hook point exposure. Like Tim said it looks like that hook is gonna struggle to get through the material. You must be bored or in a creative mood. LOL!

Yea, not enough hook exposure there. You could also take several small pieces of the Scotch bright, poke a hole in the middle of them and slide them on to the shaft of the hook before you tie the rig up.

Would sugest using a sponge cut to a square or rounded shape so the hook are exposed on all sides and the sponge should hold the bait better. I have some sponge bait holders and they are barrel shaped.

Hey hh, as others have mentioned Looper's Rigs are great. He is also a sponsor of the BOC. Check out his site at

I would also watch hook exposure, although with proper hook exposure looks like you have a good idea.

Maybe strips of scothbrite 2inch by 1/2inch hooked at the end so they dangle from hook points.

You cant go wrong with Looper Rigs, I swear by em. They hold stinkbait better then anything I have tried. There are many members that use these every time they go out. You will not be dissapointed.

Like the others have said, your hook point exposure is almost non existant.

Panty hose will hold stinkbait on the hook. Also if it's too soft by itself to stay on the hook, try adding flour to harden it up.
