Spent 4 hours bank fishing on the Licking River yesterday. Caught PB of 8# 3oz. New avatar. Caught another one around 3#. River was down, bank was slippery. Lot of boats out on a Monday.

John,
Got the big one on cut frozen shad. Learned a lesson. I normally use 2 "0" hooks and put a shad head on one. Got a slight run and I could feel him spit it out. I don't think I had enough hook tip exposed on my circle hook.
Switched over to a 3 "0" hook and used a shad body about 3" long with the tip exposed. Wam! He ran with and I got him.

On the other side. Was looking for it since you mentioned going up there on a barge.
Thanks,

if you go down past that fuel dock there in latonia you will see a huge concrete structure there on the same side as the dock. if you fish right below that going towards the river there is a big hole that drops off about fifteen feet instantly. ive caught some nice fish out of that hole.

I don't think I can get there on foot. Restricted to the bank. I will give it a try.
Thanks

Congrats on the P.B Channel Surfer!
I've never gotta chance to do much fishing on the licking; but I've seen a couple nice holes out towards Pendelton County on KY 330. I used to live out that way and I used to have to make runs out to a tractor dealership out there every great now and then to pick up parts.
Anybody ever fished out that way?

it is a steep bank. and i dont know what the road situation is up above there. but if u can get down to the bank. there looks to be some pretty good looking bank spots. also you might wanna try the 12th street bridge. ive seen a few nice flatties taken from there. and have cut a few limb lines around there when i worked on the boat that had some nice flats on them....the limb lines werent marked so they got cut cuz they were illegal anyways:smile2:

It was damp and slippery. My back is still recovering from falling on my *ss. Only thing that kept me from the drink was my rod holder between my legs.:tounge_out:
