I had an Apelco which was made by Raymarine and was the same thing. I wasn't real happy with it. I ended up giving it away. I now use only Eagle or Lowrance. You can't go wrong with them.

Default Raymarine 500x

I have been looking at the raymarine 500 for use on the Missi river. Leaves, silt, and air bubbles cause such clutter on the screen in my lowrance that I am looking around. Supposedly the raymarine can screen out a lot of the clutter. Any thoughts? Hannibal Mike

I have the Raymarine L265 on my boat now. It's ok for getting an idea of what's on the bottom and depth information.

It is fairly easy to use. It came on my boat; if I had to buy a replacement, I'd probably go Eagle (most likely based on cost) or Lowerance.
