Default GPS in car

would there be a problem if I got a power cord for my sonar gps, and installed a cigerette ligher plug and use it in the car when traveling. No, I wouldn't put the transducer on the car.

I do exactly that sometimes with my garmin gpsmap162. It is gps only, and works very well in my truck. I pull out the cupholder on the dash and set the unit right there. I used it on a fishing trip to Virginia some time back, and it took me straight to Dutch Gap landing and my motel without having to ask directions or stop to look at a map. Just put in those waypoints before I left home.

Thanks, I will give mine a try. It seems like a waste to just use it in the boat.
