Well here is how it went. OMG did you see the fog this morning? well it was thick. long story short, 1 good bite resulted in my friends first blue cat about #20. (did not have scales to weigh him) but it was his PB. That was about 10am, the rest of the day 1 nibble but nothing else. Still had a great time and learned where not to try to fish, man that current is fast down here.....

Shadguts, got the skunk ot of the boat but i sould still mell him... I hope to do better next time. Attached is the picture of Steve with his fish.

Hey guys! I know it has been a while since I posted, but I have had the hunting bug for the last few months and fishing has taken the back seat. After nearly three months I blew the dust off the boat and launched from McKellar on Sunday afternoon. It rained all Sunday morning, but about noon it cleared up and I saw the opportunity to go fishing.... so I took it. Went out with a cast net and no bait, and after a few hundred throws caught a few carp and some mooneye. Didn't anchor up till about 3pm. Didn't get many bites, but finally caught an 8, 13 and 14 pounder, all behind dikes. The 35 degree water took a bit of the fight out of them, but it was fun all the same. I was worried I'd forgotten which end of the rod to hold, it has been so long. But it ended up being a glorious afternoon with no wind and temps around 50 degrees.

Looking forward to catching some 'real' bait and hitting it hard..... (dang crickets are hard to find this time of year). After a poor performance last year, I am ready to haul in some hogs! SaltDog, I know I'm a little late, but welcome to the board and look forward to you adding to our little 'RiverRat' thread.

Hey guys, its been a long time since I've really had a chance to get on here and an even longer time since I've actually had a chance to go fishing! Sounds like yall have still managed to catch some fish even with freezing temps, rain, fog, and even ice on the river, which is really no suprise. Hopefully I'll get a chance to get out there, rather sooner then later, but until then, GOOD LUCK!

Hey guys! Where are all the fishing reports???

I know... it has been cold and raining a lot.... and the river is high again, which ain't nothing to get real excited about. But I did get out on Sunday for some fishing. It was a pretty nice day, but I still about froze my butt off. I guess I have been staying in my nice warm garage and on the couch too long, because the cold hit me like a ton of bricks. Anyway, didn't catch much to speak of.... a 1, 7 and 10 pounder were all we caught. Had few other bites, and there was lots of debris under water. Water temp about 38 degrees. It doesn't look like the river is gonna get any better anytime soon, so I guess we're gonna have to just deal with it. Everybody needs to start doing their reverse-anti-rain dance... with a warm weather jiggle in the middle!

I haven't been since my last ill post. Truth is I strugle to catch big fish in the winter on the sippi. Being snowed in last weekend didn't help. I dont mind trying just am not motivated enough to go. The tenn has been rolling at @ 200k cfs so that makes it tough there as well. Hopefully next month will be better. Glad you caught some fish Bigriver.
