Reading all of these is makin me hungry!:smile2: For breakfast we usually take some sausage and eggs and mix it all together and roll it up in a tortilla. Only dirty one skillet with most of our meals. A good dinner we like to have is what we call garbage potatoes. Its just diced potatoes with eggs and chopped hot links all mixed together with cheese melted on top. I love it. Hard to beat a fresh caught fish fry though.:big_smile:I like to have a variety of meals just to keep it interesting. I do most of the cookin so I get to make the call.

Several years ago we was at the ocean surf fishing. Early one morning about the crack of day light, my buddy pulls out a gas grill and starts frying country ham. Now this country ham smell started lingering. We had people down the coast line come up and beg us to sell them some. My buddy had done this for several years. So by now he knows what to expect. He never sold any. But he sure gave plenty away. So I got to say country ham and hamburger buns are pretty good on the coast surf fishing at the crack of day light!

Nothing like a cast iron skillet of greasy eggs and bacon to start the day or end the evening when camping.

I remember as a kid dad used to make foil packs w/ potatoes and other vegetibles. Just through those babys on the coals, that was tasty.

When I was in the scouts everyone would bring a random can of chilli from the store. We would dump them all in the same pot and add some seasoning and hot sauce. That stuff tasted great.....and kept a bunch of 12 year olds entertained with fart jokes for a couple of days.

WoW!, Lot of great foods that I read about but out of 12 pages I could only find one small comment about grits......For me for breakfast it's gotta be some good ol' southern yellow grits, bacon, fried eggs with the yellow runnin to mix up in the grits........and sometimes some fresh fried catfish to go with it. and oh! yeah!, sometimes it gotta be mater gravey made from that bacon greese to, with some bisquits.

While Camping the menu usually consists of my wild pork chorizo and egg tacos for breakfest with coffee. Lunch would be some sandwichs and chips with soda. But the main event would normally consist of grilled dove breasts stuffed with jalapenos and wrapped with bacon. That would be followed up with some fresh deer chili and sweet cornbread washed down by some cold adult beverages.
