i would say...carp guts most the time it was nice when one of my bestfriends grandpa owned the local fish market we had them coming out our ears!!! gross but they work we won a local mo. river tourney here with them no one else had anything we brought in 3 channels and lost a nice one right at the boat its bad when you win with less than 20 pounds and have the big fish too all on carp guts:crazy:
i use good ole bluegills, when i can catch them
definently the stink bait haha..
i drift using frozen shad covered with cornmeal to keep them seperated. i seem to get littler fish with worms or liver. i've got 3 large flats with shad. i think the movement of drifting fooled them.
chicken livers and hamburger wheaties for channels
Crawlers and liver here. Haven't found a punch bait I like yet but I'm looking, anyone have a favorite?
:wink:I USE MORMAN CRICKETS HERE IN WASHINGTON. THEY ARE A TYPE OF LOCUST. THEY SWARM HERE AND ARE DYNOMITE!!!! 2ND I USE SUCKER MEAT. 3RD I USE SHRIMP. BUT #1 GO TO IS MORMAN CRICKETS.
Definately Chicken Livers for the Wabash.
the best bait you can get on these community fishing waters is hot dogs. ive caught stuff from a couple inches long to 7-8# they cant get enough. i found this out by talking to a guy that used to work at a hatchery and he told me thats what they feed them when they start to grow. ive even caught a few gills and sunnys on small chunks of hot dogs the best bait ive ever used. the average for the cats i catch is 3-4#s and they are good fighters. have to watch youre pole though theyl take it out of youre holder faster than any other fish ive caught. talk to ya later.
