depends on where I am fishing. at th local golf course tank I use Danny king's punch bait and cut minnows, cut shad and or minnows cut on different parts of th main pay lake, below th dam I use crawdads w/o th pinchers an shrimp. if all else fails, i spray wd40 on just about anything an that usually brings some in.

I'll have to go with Big Dav on this one. Have caught them on a lot of baits, but shrimp seems to be the very best. I was surprised there wasn't a seperate catagory for "shrimp". I doubt it would have been at the bottom of the list.

Different baits for different fishing
I have packages of catfish bait frozen in my freezer. It has shrimp, shad, wieners, and buffalo tenderloins mixed in it. Some are sprinkled with garlic. I use this mostly on my jug lines if I can’t find shad with my cast net. On my rod and reel though I usually go with Danny Kings punch bait. I love those little Kitties on light line (6 to 10 lb) under slip bobbers and for numbers you just can’t beat the punch bait. You occasionally get a wonderful surprise and a big bruiser grabs it. I lose a few biguns on the light line but the fights are memorable and the big guys aren’t the best eating and would be released anyway.

Danny King's Punch Bait with no doubt. It never fails to put plenty of eating size fish in the box.

You can't go wrong with shad guts in the spring. The summer I switch up to cut shad and or shrimp.
