My first pistol was a ruger single six in 32 h&r magnum caliber. Nice pistol. I never could shoot it very good. Since then got me a para ordance 45. It shoots great and wouldnt trade it for anything.

Ruger 22 single six convertible with extra 22 mag cylinder. Bought it when I came back from SEA in 1970. Sold it to my one of my brother in laws during the mid 70's, wish I never had. It was s great shooter. I shot a couple of rabbits on the run with it, at around 35 yards. Brother in law still talks about how accurate it is.

My first hand gun was a 32 S&W (long) and it was given to me by my father, who was a law enforcement officer. Back in the old days law enforcement officers could take weapons away from (bad) folks, present it in court as evidence and then the court would tell them to dispose of it any way they saw fit. So, my dad would bring them home and teach us boys how to shoot them in a safe and proper manner. I ended up with several lemmon squeezers, short 38's, etc.

Before he died he gave me his most treasured item and that was a 44 mag. NC Highway Patrol limited editions (1,200 total) made by S&W. I in return am giving it to my nephew, who is also in law enforcement, for Christmas this year. This pistol has never been fired and comes with a real nice wood case and a matching numbered knife with the hightway patrol seal on it, same as the 44 mag.

Mine was a 357 Ruger Blackhawk boy oh boy was that thing loud. Starting shooting 38's and then it was a sweet gun to shoot.

Actually my first was a pair. A matched set of H&R .22 cal 6" revolvers, a 9 shot long rifle and a 6 shot magnum. I dont remember the model #'s, they had swing open cylinders, ribbed barrels, and adj. target sites. They are long gone now, but surely missed.

I just bought my first hand gun today. I bought a 44mag Taurus. I think it has a 6 1/2" barrel and is stainless steel. It felt much better in my hands than any 357 I picked up. Also bought some powder, bullets, dies, primers and rounds. Now I just need some time for shooting.
