This was my first one that my grandfather gave me before he died. Its a colt 32 auto with a 1897 patient on it. I use it for a backup carry.

Speaking of handguns, I am unclear to the law on hand guns. If Im gone camping and fishing Do I have to have a Carry conceal permit if its left in the car and only taken out at night while Im sleeping? Personal protection. I have never needed anything more than a .22 revolver. but I do have a .50 cal. Muzzleload pistol that I built from a kit. Mac
might want to check your local regs. i thought when transporting a handgun your ammo should be kept seperate from the gun(in trunk), that might also apply if its just left in your car.
Like Lendog said, check your laws for your state as each one is different. PA law is if you dont have a carry permit and your transporting the gun in your car/truck the gun must be in plain sight, action must be open, clip taken out (if a semi) and ammo stored seperately. As near as I can tell "seperately" could mean you could have the clips, ammo, whatever in the glove box and the gun on the seat.
This should be some help... click on your state.
Best to have a CCW permit and not have to worry about being legal. Wife and I both have permits.
MINE AS TWO I GOT A T/C CONTENDER AND A BERETTA U22 NEOS . THE CONTENDER IN 22LR AND 223
My first was a .38 Colt Diamondback. I traded it for a Smith and Wesson Model 459 9mm. I've looked back and often wished that I had never traded that gun.
My first handgun was a Ruger Bearcat. Should have never sold that pistol.......
My first handgun was a Ruger SP101 in .357 Magnum! Still have it!
