I know I'm digging up a really old thread.. but i was wondering if this works with the 7000's as well...

The older ones have smaller bearings 3X10X4 , the spool shaft is 3 mm instead of 4mm . So before you up grade your older reels check the spool shafts. I was not aware of this until I got the new ones an had to make up bushings to make them fit lol, but it was fun to get on the lathe for a small project .
