Candle wax for ferrules? As long as I've got my nose with me, I can simply rub the ferrule against the side of it to put enough oil on it to insure that I can get the rod apart later. Incidentally, for those who may not know this, the best way to pull a sticking ferrule apart is to put the rod behind your knees with the ferrule centered, and your knees together. Grasp the rod with one hand on each side of a knee, as close to the knees as possible. Then, while pulling apart with your hands, also spread your knees apart, giving extra force. This method has two advantages: it puts more pressure on the ferrule to get it apart; and, it gives a straight pull, which is hard to do when pulling with your hands alone.

................how come no one keeps toilet paper in their box?? comes in handy on those long nights on the bank..........also instead of bringing a bottle opener i just use my bic lighter.............bic lighters and heineken get along great together.......

Hey BassMasey.... Not me but I have a friend that opens Heineken bottles with his teeth. He also never leaves home without his Bic. He doesn't smoke cigarettes and he doesn't use his Bic lighter to open bottles with either. :) I stick to my Budweiser. :)

Um, let's see what kind of odd stuff I have...

I have a chain mail glove for grabbing big cats so they won't pull all the meat off my hand and a hand gaff for other toothy finned critters, a leatherman's tool for assorted duties, shear pins and a little AM/FM radio so I can keep track of the weather if it starts looking bad.
I also have several "kits" I've already made up so if I hang one of my jugs and have to cut the line I can just switch out the whole thing along with hooks and sinkers all at once. In addition to the list above, there's also a set of hemostats and small scissors for swallowed hooks.

Ialways carry a dart without the feathers to help me unntie the line on my reel when it over runsrelly comes in handy.

A small bottle of dishwashing soap. Just in case I get into poison ivy or i want to wash my hands or knives.

Whip it wipes are the best thing ever!!!! like baby wipes but have scrubby stuff on them and are saturated with an orange cleaner. Will remove any foul odor from your hands Even the stench of sour shad. Got them from my last job not quite sure witch industrial supplier stocks them need to search the web for a source but would definatly be worth the trouble. If anyone knows or finds a source for these please let me know I'll need more sometime next season

I have a multi purpose tool I carry (just like a gerber but cheaper;) ) It has come in handy on many occasions such as when my bait click got stuck in the "on" position.

I quit smoking about 2 months ago but until then I always had an extra pack of smokes in my tackle box in case the fish got to bitting and I didn't bring enough.
