first time on the mighty mississippi

headed out at first light in the morning on my first trip to the big sippy....putting in at myersville ms and hoping to catch some good ones never fished the big river so this will be a learning trip for me... will let everyone know the outcome

well my first trip was slow... caught one small blue...didnt stay as long as I wanted to the rain ran me off

Better than sniffing that ole skunk. I only got to fish about 3 hours today myself due to prior commitment and only caught 3 fish one about 10# and two in mid teens. I really didn't get very many bites compared to what I have been getting. Don't know if fish weren't there or weren't biting. I marked a bunch on one rock bank that i was almost certain were catfish and I didn't catch anything drifting it and not sure I even got a bite that drift. Better luck to you next time

Josh , I do believe there is a fishing trip in the works for Labor Day weekend ................. I am sure quite a few USCA members will attend ........... nothing is finalized yet , but through the grapevine I heard about it last nite ..................I don't know if u are into camping and fishing , but if u are ,,, pay attention to the Mississippi forum or the Arkansas forum for the final decision on the trip when it is posted ................. We will fish the Misipy river for sure , just where is the decision ......................... Come join us .......

thanks coach ...ill keep my eyes open for it... I would enjoy comin to a gathering and meeting you guys and learning how to catch them like yall do... looking foward to it
