Bucksport 8/10/12
Been off the water for a couple of weeks but went to Bucksport today. I was only able to fish from 7:00am until noon but caught 7 the largest was 12.8 lbs and the smallest 5.6 lbs. I went down and fished the large creeks in about 30ft of water, did not have any live bream so I used cut eel. The fish were biting very light for some reason and only a couple really nailed it.
Here's a plug for the restaurant at Bucksport, got a burger there when I came out and it was one of the best I'd had in a long time everyone needs to stop by and support them, they really have a nice facility there.

I'm fishing around Bull Creek (marker 48) most of the time in about 30' of water. This is my first year fishing this area and I'm still learning a lot each time I go. I found some good water to the left of the landing at bucksport, I think the name of the creek is old river (got the name off google maps) it's not as wide as bull creek but has a lot of 20' plus water, I also marked a lot of fish on the bottom with my depth finder. I hope to give this area a try next time I go.
Post back and let me know how you do. I fish on Fridays most of the time in a camo triton stick steer with rod holders and a merc with no decals on it. If you see me on the water stop and give me shout.....................

Sorry it took so long to reply, computer has been down for over a week. Your set up sounds a lot line mine 2oz flat sinker, 30lb flourocarbon leader 24-30"s long, 7/0 offset circle hook and cut eel 2-3"s long (fresh eel is best I cut mine live). Not sure if you anchor or tie off, I anchor 20-30 yrds off the bank. Last time I went was a couple of weeks ago at night only caught 6 fish but the averaged about 10 pounds, largert about 15 and smallest about 7. I've been getting my deer stands ready but hope to get back on the water soon...................
