Default LKN Fishing Report, August 10, 2012

My party of five was an hour late getting to Beattys Ford public access this AM, so we got a late start, but it appears that an early start wasn't so hot at the dam. In four and one half hours I covered a lot of water this morning and produced very few cats. Total count was a bakers dozen and my clients kept the eater size and threw the smaller ones back. I'm a tad on the tired side, so I will let the photos do the talking.P8100028.JPGP8100030.JPGP8100032.JPG. Todays bait selection was cutup white perch, blue gills and CBMIGP. Yep the chicken caught all but one catfish. Saw one small dead striper floating and a small catfish.

Talked to several cat fishermen at the dam area and they said it was the slowest they had seen the bite in the past two weeks.

Mac nice to meet you this morning at the landing. My dad, little boy, and I were the ones in the Sea Ark early this morning. We ended up with 13 cats. I was suprised by the size we caught. I caught one over 30 and we had 8 between 10 and 18 pounds. My dad and brother fished on the 8th and caught 47 but they were all smaller cats. Lucas

Yep. We released the big one and most of the big fish. I kept a couple for filets. My son had a ball. All fish were caught between 25 to 40 FOW. Most were caught on the shallow end of that. All fish were caught on herring.
