In all honesty the evening started out slow. However persistence paid off as eventually I found some good marks/fish and setup on em. SLAM! It was on! Heavy current, roughly 25' deep w/ chunked Mooneye. It was a little windy on the Mississippi, but overall a great evening / night - Thursday night. I also had a Ugly Stik Tiger Rod snap on me at the handle. I wonder if I can get BP to exchange it even though it's been 2 - 3 years. I believe Ugly Stiks have a 5 year warrant(?)
I was fishing alone last night so I only took a picture of the 51 lbr on the floor. I also caught a 12 lbr. I ended up leaving not long after catching the 51 lbr, which was about 11:00 p.m. Then I headed up to the barges to get bait and was chased off or from behind the Tugs. Apparently the ACL (as he said) is making new rules and will not allow people to tie up to barges, or get near barges and tugs. I didn't argue with him, but according to him they're having a lot of problems in Louisiana with people stealing items off barges and Tugs.
As a note: Regarding a shop who I had install the vinyl on the side of my boat....which I didn't think they did....he installed a 1" reflective black strip instead of regular black along the bottom of the big black vinyl strip above. I will have to say, I like it.... during the day it just looks black. But, flash a spot or a tug flashes me from a distance, it will reflect!
