    Default Anyone do GOOD?

Rough fishing for me this weekeend! Put miles on my float tube....my legs are SHOT! did catch one 5lb flatty this morning to save a skunk. Also had some fun with some drum and bass, so I guess I can't complain.

Larry and I fished Woodson (spooky lake) on Sunday, man it was hot, Wichita went to 111 on Sunday. Got there about 5.30 and fished until 1.00 it was too hot after that. We caught one good channel (7/8 lbs on a goldfish and a Kat Bobber, Larry got one about 6 on cut shad, and we caught 50 or more little (channels in the 6" to 10" range, they would drive you nuts bitting and eating what ever bait you put up by a feeder, we missed a coulpe of good fish on shad heads under a Kat Bobber, I love fishing this lake its clear and deep and has the potential to put a big fish on your line, plus we were the only people there all day

I went out both nights to two different rivers with the boat and didn't do any good either. Both looked promising for some big flats but only produced a couple smaller channels. I'll be back out thursday if not sooner though.

Went to the big ditch over by central and had a real good bite on goldfish, but... I missed it. Had my clicker set and the fish was taking line and when I went to set the hook my reel didn't engage and, well you know the rest.

I'll probably go back down there and catch some bait and give it another shot. And I won't be using my clicker.

I fished a bass'n buddy tourny @ Woodson about 9 yrs ago. Beautiful area. The funny thing is, while we were pounding the banks, we saw a couple of big flatties(over 30) cruising/hunting an 8-10ft depth contour. I have always wanted to go back and go for them, but havn't made it out that way. Maybe this Fall!

There are some big fish in that lake, I just haven't caught one yet, caught a 16/17 lb channel last summer down there, the biggest I've caught there, and lost a fish that was pulling the boat around

I didn't have much luck last weekend either, went out to Lake Shawnee for about 3-4 hrs Sunday morning, caught one tiny channel little bit bigger than bait size, lol, and one little largemouth that went about a lb., did get a nice run on cut bluegill that I'd injected with dead red blood spray but missed it, hopefully we all start hammering 'em this weekend! :)
