I'd have to agree with Tea, most of what you catch at Buckeye are dinks up to about 6 lbs.

They're in there. It's a difficult place to score big. Hoping to get back next year to try some hair rigs on surf rods for the monster asian carp that were intentionally stocked for weed control. Bruisers. When they bust the surface at night it's enough to excite any angler, they wake the lake!

Try a surf rod and try to hit the main channel out in the middle that runs toward the dam. Bloody bait, live bait, and for long distance casting chunks of beef or pork liver. Fish one with a float and glow stick and one on the bottom. Move the baits a few feet when your not getting hits. It seems to be hit or miss but alot of nights you'll have the whole lake to yourself because most folks only catch the squeaks. Still an old standby for me, I've fished there since the 80's.

Whatever you do, take a trashbag. Folks leave the most horrible messes there. Seems since there aren't many trashcans some people feel free to litter. Seems I always carried out more than I took in.
