Good times man, brings back memories. Raced stocks and IMCA modifieds for 10 years. Quit and then got my son involved in Karts and raced nationally. Its been three years since Ive been to any track. After all the years it just stopped calling to me. But I did enjoy your photos!

Have a great time on Friday nights!

This is the track that I work the fire crew every friday night. http://youtu.be/2EBtFrlGcjE I all so live 30min. away from Knoxville, home of the Knoxville nationals. 30min from Boone speedway home of the IMCA super nationals. 30min away from the Iowa speedway which is lame. Its only fun when the IRL shows up.

Hey Jerm, ever been to the track in Farmer City? Not much farther for you than Lincoln I think. Non-winged 410's will run July 20th there, not WOO show, but still a good time. It's a 1/4 mile track with some real good racing.

nope this was a first. i had some friends that used to go alot but i was always worried about nascar and dui's. i was usually 8 deep by dark every weekend night back then and didnt want to drive over there. things are different now. i didnt even crack a beer till they started the racing at 7. moderation now. getting i lil older. dont pack em away like i used to.

I don't have anything close enough to go very often, but I go to Phenix City, Al. a couple of times a year for some dirt action. Really good times up there at the State and National Championships!

I had a pretty good time watching some racing on teevee today. I surfed in to the Indy Car race on the streets of Toronto first, and the final laps were as "wreckful" as the last few at Daytona. They don't have a "green-white checker" rule, so it finished under caution. Then I ran across the last part of some kind of truck race that was like a motocross, but with trucks. Man oh man was that some wild racing! Those trucks are some evermore tough machines! This one guy got sideways in a jump and sorta cut across the track, then another guy made the jump and landed right on top of him! The top guy went end over end, and the bottom guy just kept on trukkin! I didn't catch what they call that kind of racing, but I'd like to see some of it in person.

After that, I got hooked on a golf tournament. The guy that won has never been heard of before, but he has now~. He won a million bucks and a trip to the Masters, and all the while he was as calm as if he was waiting in the grocery line. I guess I just like watching a good competition, whether it is Nascar or TiddlyWinks, but I didn't make it out of the house until almost 7pm!

That is what now is called Lucas Oil Offroad Racing Series, formally known as CORR (Championship Off Road Racing) and before that it was SODA (Short Course Offroad Drivers Association). They have 3 classes of trucks Pro 4, Pro 2, and Pro Lite. Also there is a couple of buggy classes. Jimmie Johnson and Brendan Gaughan came from this type of racing.
