Default Where can i catch some bullhead in southern California?

Hello!! I am new to this forum and I'm excited to be apart of it! I am in Southern California and I have always been a fisherman, but I've mostly fished for trout, bass, and bluegill. I've gone catfishing here and there throughout my life, but I would really like to get more into it!! So anyway, I've been really wanting to catch some bullhead catfish, but I'm not sure of which lakes or rivers in soCal have bullhead in them...Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I never targer bullhead, but got some from Fulmor, Hemet, Big Bear, and Jinks lake. Most catfish I caught here in So Cal water are channels, and flathead catfish.... Lots of good cat fishing here in our loco water.........Welcome to USCA....

well where exactly in socal are you located? Because down around the vista area I know of a couple ponds. But if you want you could also go to lake cuyamaca. Real easy fishing there. But bullheads are usually in most ponds that hold fish. just use pieces of worms or chunks of hotdogs and you should catch them.

Thanks for your input guys! I live in the Yucaipa, which is near San Bernardino area. So the surrounding bodies of water include Silverwood, Perris, Big Bear, etc.

I'm actually going to be up in the Idyllwyld area this weekend. Perhaps I should check out Fulmor and lake Hemet? I've driven right passed Fulmor tons of times, but never stopped to fish. And I've been wanting to check out Lake Hemet lately. I didn't know those lakes had bullhead, but then again, it seems like those little guys find their way into any lake. haha ;)

HI Chris welcome to BOC/USCA! I live in Los Angeles County in a city called South Gate. WE are going to have a gathering in Blyth around October. You are more than welcome to join us. We are going to be fishing the Colorado River.

This is the lake around the LA area correct? I did some research about it after you sent your suggestion, and I guess there's some lake monster legend hahaha. But anyway, found out that there are lots of bullhead in there! Thanks for the suggestion! Don't know if I'll be up there anytime soon, but at least I know of that place now. Thanks!! :)
