Lake Norman Report 6-30-12 Good bite going on
I hit Lake Norman just after daylight. I started out around maker 7 this morning. My freezer died last week and I lost all my perch so the only bait I had was some frozen shad that I was able to save. I also made up a Mac special of CBMIGP. I have had no luck with it in the past but Mac kills them with it so I figured I would give it a try. Started fishing and wouldn’t you know the first fish hit on the CBMIGP. Within the first hour I was on the perch and started changing out baits. Caught several blues, 3 channels, and a bunch of perch in the first creek. I moved a little south and fished a creek I have never fished before right off the main channel. I got into a huge school of perch landed several more blues and one more channel. Caught 0 fish on the shad, 4 fish on the CBMIGP, 12 fish on fresh perch. Most all the fish were 6 lbs and under but I was able to land a nice 17 lb blue. I was off the water by noon.
