Hitting the Ohio this weekend

Gona make the trek down to the big river this weekend. Would like to hit cinci area and Covington Any body doing any good around there. I was also wondering if you can fish all night on Covington side by the licking. I'm heading down from lake erie area and would just like an idea if any body is doing good. I m pretty much willing to drive to any of the pools. Got some time off and just wanna fish the river. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

For what it's worth, I'm gonna guess that as the 4th of July is next Wednesday, this weekend will be the crazy party weekend and I for one will be avoiding the place even though I would love to be fishing.

Pretty sure u can fish covington/newport all night, as well as cincinnati side. If fishing all night on cincy side bring someone or protection. Not saying its terrible just some odds characters. W is right it will be a mad house down there, which is why I wont have the boat anywhere near it lol

Thanks. I will be fishing with friends and a large dog so no worries there. I'm gonna get down that way early and check some places out. I'm pretty flexible where I can go. Not afraid to drive a little. Thanks alot

Dont know about that area but I fished around Marietta this past weekend and didnt even get a bite I was using goldfish,bluegills, israili carp for bait and not one bite and this was my first time out dont like to be skunked first time out

ya u can fish cov side all night.. i have before and never got told any difference.. try to find places down or up from cincy and cov also. i think that would be better then fishing right in middle of the big city.. good luck! lol

Could always try medahl dam area. I'm not sure if they catch them there, but there are fire pits every where. So one would think there's fish there? Could also hit the mouth of both 9 mile and 10 mile creeks.. Good luck.

i went two nights ago on the stretch behing the greenup lock and dam,we caught a bunch of small ones.This was my first time out this summer so i didnt go completely prepared.I believe i may give it a try tonight and will post my results.i may try the down river side of the dam that has more big rocks along the ohio side of the bank in case they are spawning.i figure they may be coming and going in that area if so..has anyone else on here been fishing that section of river ?

i have a bullet proof vest for sale if interested, or you can just borrow it lol, no joke though be careful in that area 10 guys and a big dog is no match for one guy with a handgun bro keep that in mind.
