i love crappie fishing as well. hell i like all kinds of fishing. flathead, channel and crappie are my favorite though. ya, they may not be as fun to catch as a cat but they are still fun and can be caught at times when the cats arent as active.

went out last week in the 100 degree heat, and caught a whole pile of crappie. after it was all said and done, with 5 people in the boat, all jigging the same spot, we cleaned a 5 gallon bucket of fillets.. hell yeah. all on tube jigs and micro spinner baits.

They are the first fish I target every year in the spring, but I usually switch to cats after the spawn and stick with that till its to cold to fish anymore. Usuall catch enough crappie to last forever it seems yum yum.

I am a huge crappie fisherman, too! love to single pole jig, spider riggin, trollin crankbaits.... its all a hoot! most of my fishing trips around here its crappies in the am and throught the day then kitty cats at night. lately the bite has been on crankbaits but next time I go I am gonna spider rig with light gear and drop a couple of catfish poles down toward the bottom. I really think I can do both at once!
