If anyone needs my address, let me know, I can text it or PM it to ya. Would rather not post it on a public forum.

My opinion is that the clubs attention should be more focused on fishing and getting out on the water as a club. People are interested in and join the club because they want to go catfishing, learn more about catfishing, have fun and not just listen to people talk about it. More events on the water fishing should bring more participation, commaradary, better numbers and a better club overall. I think you make it easy, there should be an event/tournement each month, the second Sat of the month for example, from april to oct. and maybe one freeze out winter tournament in Jan. every person will not make every event but I bet a lot of members could make several events if they new ahead of time when and where they would be. Even small deals 2-5 boats could be a lot of fun. I also think that the tournaments should be draw tournaments with a very low entryfee($1-$5). I used to fish with a draw tournament club when I lived in springfield, Mo. The focus was not on winning big bucks (the winner probably covers gas costs at best) it was about fishing with different people, learning new things, friendly braggin rights, and friendly competition. Boaters were paired with non boaters by drawing out of a hat. It was fun. Thats what kept people coming back and participation high.

I also think that one event/tournament in spring and one in the fall should be a kids fishing trip to encourage the continued growth of our sport.

I also think we could simplfy the meeting deal by having one late winter meeting "lead fest". Make sure the agenda is posted ahead of time and members are made aware of what will be disscussed. If you miss the meeting and fail to inform the appropriate person of your opinion on the agenda then you forfiet your opinion. The finer details could be lined out via this website and at the club events throughout the rest of the year.

I aggree that there must be bylaws, rules and standards, for the club but all this is no good if it does not serve the club in a positive manor. If membership cannot agree on it and use it to their advantage something must be done. For example, at leadfest 2012, we were one or two members short of the official group size to have an official meeting. Therefore a new member could not "officialy" enter and a official meeting could not be held. No plans were made and here we are. to my knowledge no events other than what Andy has put togather for the 16th of June are scheduled. I am not trrying to offend anyone but lets be honest that leaves a pretty poor image for the club.

I guess my point is maybe two fold: maybe there are times when rules should be bent for the greater good of the big picture.( a good functioning club), and the club should focus more on what brouhght us togather, the sport of catfishing, not just meetings about it.

Again, I hope I did not offend anyone. I am just stating my opinion as a 2nd year member of the club and trying to contibute some ideas towards a possible solution. I do not know the history of the club or many of the members for that matter. I just know that I fished in a good club when I lived in springfield and it was a lot of fun. I would like to have a similar experienece with this club.

As in years past, almost always we had a quorem, and there were gift certificates and the likes to use that day, so there is motivation to attend. Im a little hesitant to grant voting proxy to one person being as those not in attendance would not be there to hear the discussion on an item or an idea. I honestly dont think having a quorem would be an issue. On that note, I dont have a problem if someone wanted to submit a vote on something in proxy via a signed note that they give to there chapter leader. Keep the thoughts coming.

Just for giggles, please post your name in a chapter you might be interested in being a part. Again, this is hypothetical and open for debate.

    Lot's of good ideas, Pat.
Thank you, we need all the input we can get & appreciate as much as we can get.
Nobody is offended by any suggestion from a member, so don't sweat it. I wish more would chime in on what they think.

Well said Pat.... As a member from the start im all for saving this club. It will be a shame to let it just go to waste.. John has done a awesome job trying to hold it together, but he's only one man. We all can step up and do a little more. You had some good ideas in your post. I think the club should mave a quick board meeting to check the funds and see if we can get it back on track and make it fun again.. Im not on the board but if theres anything i could do to help (the famous words of Jerry Casey) IM ALL IN...lol

It's good roses the level of interest in keeping the club going forward, but so far it seems to be just forum talk. Hopefully there are some things going on in the background. I guess I'm the "new" member that keeps getting referred to who couldnt get voted in. but I paid my dues and I'd like to think of myself as a member of this group. As Willie said, if there's any thing I could do to help let me know.
