Ive been looking at boats the last 2weeks and to be up front .. Ive looked a the Tracker grizzly 2072 seams decent and almost pulld the trigger on a seaark 2072 mv with a 90 yam...

There is no way i can bring my self to pay that much for a john boat after rideing in other boats i gotta have a deep v .The ride is so much easyer and when the weather picks up you dont have to worrie about going back in .

I just decide to fix my fiberglass boat till i can afford a Hewes Craft sportsman LoL ...

Again im not knocking the sea arks but... 8200 bucks for a boat with Nothing no wires nothing a striped hull on a single axle trailer with a flat bottom was not gonna happen.

And 22k for 1 seat and a console and a floor and a motor ... well i almost laughed.

The Tracker boats are priced good but after i did my research the welds breaking and taking months to fix and all the crap customer care it was not gonna work.

I bought a new tracker last year. With the verstrack gunnel, you can slide a carriage bolt in there and basically make your own setup with the rod holders. I ran a 2 by 6 across mine and mounted some monster rod holders across it. BPS wanted like $70 a piece for plastic rod holders,I lol'd

as far as brands I can't help you a whole lot there, both boats I've had are "lowes" the first was a 1986 model and didn't leak a drop. the one I have now is a 1977 and has a bilge pump for a reason . its cracked and been rewelded on the corners and I've added angle iron to the side to prevent it from cracking again. but it has been used hard long before I got it.

the main advice I can give is make sure the boat is what you want and don't settle for something you don't exactly like. last summer I finaly had enough money saved to buy a used boat. I wanted at least a 1648 with a 25 hp motor. I came across a 1436 with a 15hp for a good price. the boat was in great shape and I had no issues with it but just was never happy with its size. I ran it on the Mo river and never felt unsafe but just never had enough room in it for what I wanted..within a month I was back to staring at boats and dreaming. I now have a 1754 flatbottom with a 55hp and even though the boat isn't in as nice shape as my old one I enjoy it alot more. alot more room and more than 2 ppl can fish out it.

stick to whatever goals you have for a boat and don't settle for less
