We were doing alright by the fire on Saturday at Timber Creek on Milford. Made some jokes at the expense of weathermen and enjoyed a mild morning. The wind suddenly kicked up and within a half hour we saw whitecaps on what had been a nice little riffle. Didn't take long for Bryan, Kyle and me to dust off for home which Arky noted in his post on the gathering thread. Then I hear that a tornado touched down about two miles north of Wakefield that evening. Way too much entertainment with the sirens blaring and wife acting like it was coming for us when she could see it was sliding north and east away from us. It wasn't like that time the tornado hit Chapman hard then bounced over us to plow into Manhattan like it did a couple years back. Safest way to be in a tornado is to be somewhere else when it shows up, I guess.
