what is a good time to start fishing for cats
the weather has been pretty warm lately but the water is still a bit cold, i know fish are always feeding but when would be a good time to start?

I usually start fishing for channels on jan 1st for the year and continue through the whole year, they can be caught year round, Blues also, Flatheads generally dont start up until the water temps get above 50 or so degrees, so right now, all three species are biting good and the flathead bite will only get better each day from here on out. Some of my best catting days are in really nasty crappy cold weather,LOL

The best time to start fishing is when you can get to the water. They can be caught year round no matter what people say, you just have to figure out where they are and what they are doing at that time of year.

Maybe the question should be when was the bad time u stopped?? lol Right now where i live flatties have been starting to come. I got a 3 pounder so far. as for channels i get them all yr around. I no this cold front we been haveing has put them back a little here in northern ohio. Id say get to your local cat hole. And catch ya some whiskers buddy

As soon as they are big enough to hold on to the pole.
Some of us got a late start
