    Default R2 War Rod Review

Let me start off by saying this rod will detect bites from even bullhead catfish. Yes I said bullhead ! And I have aslo caught up to a 15# flathead no problem.

Went out on a bank fishing channel cat trip last night. I had the rod locked down in the rod holder with the drag set.
I was using 6/0 circles and an 8oz weight plus cut bait.
The rod loaded nicely on the bite and every fish hooked itself.
I caught 5 channel cats, 1 bullhead, a snapping turtle, and 2 logs.

The reel I had on it was a penn310 gti that is overdue for maintinence. It was spooled with 40# mono.
    I was casting about 90'.

I am pleased with this product and it works as described. Upon inspection it also seems to be well built. I'm looking forward to catching some bigger flatheads on it.

You wont get any arguments from me. Bought my first two War Rods last fall and they quickly became my favorite rods. As you said they will detect the slightest bite, and they also have the backbone to pull in the monsters. Right now I am just waiting for the second shipment to come in and I will have a couple more.

BTW, nice fish, and i like the blured face, especially in the first pic, looks like your holding the rod with your mouth.

I just caught this big girl last night. 15#3oz on a R2 war rod while bank fishing. I was fishing tight to a submerged tree. The rod handled the fish just fine and I easily steered her clear of the tree.

Agreed that they are great action rods. I caught a 3 lb smallmouth a couple weekends ago and it felt like I was fighting a nice flatty and not just dragging it in. Impressive it can handle big fish but still make fighting small fish fun.
