Any good info on shore fishing Lake Wheeler? I know you can rent boats but it's per hour and can get kind of expensive. I know they have public fishing piers and you're not supposed to bank fish otherwise, but has anyone tried sneaking around and finding other spots? To be honest I never really fish here because I don't like those crowded piers/public areas that get fished down so much.

You are correct.....no bank fishing.....you really need a boat.....
