I see a lot of peeps and few replies. I think that is because you may need a different net for the bait and place you are throwing. I probably have 6 or more from 4 to 10 ft radius but the one I use the most is a 4.5 ft because it is realy quick and easy to throw and usually does the job for shad.

legal limit is a 10 ft net (5 ft radius). Anything bigger than that is hard to throw anyway. That is the size I use. It does the job for shad.

i throw a 6 footer myself. i find its the biggest i can get away with in the creeks i get suckers out of. I keep an extra spool of 40 lb. mono in my tackle bag for leaders, and it works great for repairing torn nets. I used to tie leaders with cajun and some green catfish line, so my net is no longer clear. 7 plus tears and she still works like charm ha

I use the 5 footer, the 4ft nets are a little to small, 6ft are a little harder to throw, but i guess its all in what u are comfortable with. Where im from 6ft nets are illegal in some spots, so i just stick with the 5ft net. There is also a big price difference in the nets. u can get a 4ft net for about $25, a 5ft net at about $35, and 6ft at $41, (wal-mart), if u hit a snag and cant get ur net back, the money adds up.
