I bought 2 of the Thunder Cat rods last summer and am very dissappointed with them! The reel seats are slightly oversized for a 6500 size reel letting the reel move around and if you tried to tighten much more than finger tight, the threads in the plastic nut will strip. Also, the line guides were not in line with each other, each was slightly offset from the previous. I contacted jeff at team catfish and he didn't offer to make it right with me, all he said was they are working on the issues. Which is unusual because I have always gotten good service from TC. I remember a few others on here had the same issues, especially with the guides. They may have worked out the bugs by now but, I don't intend to find out. So mine are in the back of the garage to use for loaners.

I have 5 of the 3/4 ton and a 1 ton and I dont like them at all. They look and feel very cheap. Went with the War Rods and havent looked back. When you compare them side by side its laughable that they want $100 for them

Sam you should disclose that you are on the Team Catfish Promotional Team to be in compliance with FTC regulations.

Even though I do a general disclosure, it really was not meant to cover other promotional teams, and was done for member awareness only.

For the price they charge for them , they are not worth it . It's like fishing with a limp noodle .

A friend of mine had one break and called Team Catfish to see if they would warrenty it .

They gave him some silly excuse about voiding the warrenty because the fish he busted it on was bigger then the warrenty covered ....... lol

At any given time this guy could set a new record and will be suprised if he dont very soon . You can bet that it wont be on a TC rod after treating him with no respect and not standing behing thier product .

Good thing I pointed him towards Renegade Tackle were he can get a great rod with a great warrenty .
