    Default Looking for some ideas

I have a bass tracker and am having a tough time fitting in the seat behind the steering console. Legs are too long and belly too big. I need to do something short of selling or stretching my current boat. Any ideas? I thought about raising the steering console. Anybody have any experience doing that? I've tried adding boat cushions to the seat and that helps, but my knees are still in the steering wheel. Appreciate any thoughts you might have. ANd yes I've tried to lose weight, doesn't solve the knee problem though.

Or you may be able to add one of the sliding adjustable seat pedestals.

Now there's an idea I hadn't thought of. I'll have to give that some thought.

You didnt say what model your tracker is if it is the standard bass boat a slider wont work as there is the rear deck right behind the seat so it wont slide backwards anymore. As far as raising the console I am sure it can be done without to much issue. Just remove the screws/rivets and put some kind of a spacer system under it and screw it down.

Standard Bass boat. If I went with a slider I'd remove the current seat and raise up mount tilt was even with the rear deck. I'll have to inspect the console a little closer and see where it's fastened. I figure the floor and the front deck. I'm also concerned I won't have enough slack in the steering cable and wiring to raise the console.

I would say you should be able to raise it 2 maybe 3 inches without issues but you would need to look at your cables and harness. I think if you put a slider on the rear deck you will sit a bit high and slam your legs into the console. That is one of the problems with the boats like that they design them for smaller framed people it seems. my old tracker was not real comfortable for me.

Thanks Merle. I really appreciate your input. I want to think this through before I start dismantling. Helps greatly to have another person to bounce ideas off. I don't plan on doing anything until the winter.Hate to miss a good fishing trip because the boat's in pieces.

Yeah, I agree. I'll be taking photos when I start the project.
