    Default Illinois River biting yet?

I'm really new to fishing the Illinois River around the Peoria/Pekin area and just wondering if they have started hitting yet and what they are hitting on.

Word is out that they are hitting on worms in the back waters. I can always catch some on Sonnies too. I prefer to use cut bait for the bigger channels. Cut asian has been the go to bait since shad are almost gone. Water temp is in the upper 50's main river and I found 68 in the back waters around Havana this week. Hope this helps.
