Let the thunder roll John.
Turkey breast sure sounds good. Thought about headed up to the in-laws farm to hunt but father in law is about to loose his battle from cancer and it just wouldnt be the same with out him being able to enjoy it.
Suns out today, plan to mow and do a few things. Should be on the water the rest of the week.
Good luck with the gobblers, will tip and cold one for ya....

Just got in, Im rusty..
Chris had to catch my bait.
A chunk off that Giant shad landed me a 38 pounder right off the bat though Chris. I tought I put it in your bucket...
They shut the water off at midnight and the bite went south after that for me.
Ended up with a enough 3-5 pounders to fillet
Life is good I bet they run lots of water tomorrow.......

I was hoping the recent rain would raise the lake a little more. Looks like they will run some water till Fri. at least. Guess I better get back out there the next couple nights and enjoy it while it's going. Big shad were in drake harbor after dark by the way. Good luck out there....

Dont look like they will be running much Adam. There's a lot of big cats allready up from the 65 bridge to the dam so maybe you will still get into them. I would try dropping the trolling motor and spider rigging aka bottom bouncing or what ever you want to call it, from the dam to the bridge. Good luck bro...

well the little woman and I just got back from Truman fishin for a week, WOW------the weather was just---SUCKED---most of the time---nothing like the forcasted weather was,, Imagine that,, we did catch some really good eater blues, had a great time on the water WHEN we could geat out there!! Then I took a friend out during the weekend
, only time he and his kid can go,
well, again when we could go out and fish without the wind we actually caught some really nice fish on the main lake, all on gills, the fish were in 10 to 20 feet of water, we really lost a nice fish the first day cuz of a rookie netter, it was all of 30 and all they could do was SCREAM
that fish really scared them and it was too large for my net and after the third time in the net with this guy she was gone
, too bad but it was a great battle and these guys have never seen nothing like this before, I think it changed there fishing views forever!!! They have never even seen a fish like her before, let alone fight it at the boat, it was great to see the---that ani't NEVER gonna happen again--ATTITUDE--they are ready to go again as soon as they change THEIR GEAR

Was at the dam for three days, one spoonbill about 35lbs on my sons line that had me excited but it was no blue and had to go back. Fishing was lousy but time spent with my oldest son priceless. I told him he had to call where we go next year, looks likes the Mississippi next year. Can't wait.

Fished saturday around the oarhouse area caught around 25 fish biggest was 28 had two others in the low 20s several from 8 to 15 # range. Fish were caught in 5 to 15 ft of water. Shad are on the banks so when you find them it dont take long to get enough to fish with.
