    Cool, is the 1000 better than the 2000? Also would a Abu 4600 be better?

    I would say there would only be a difference of line capacity between the 1000 and 2000. With the abu 4600 you could also use it for channel cats. It would be heavier then the stradics also, but more durable. Any of them would work its a matter of what you want.

    I am just a baitcaster fan, I think the Abu 4600C3 would make a better bass reel. I still think the spinning reel is nice for panfish. I have a Abu 6500C3 for Catfishing!

    I've never had a problem with any Shimano spinning reels and swear by them. With the quality of their mid range to higher end, no need to go big.
