birmingham area

Hey y'all I'm new to the area and was wondering if anyone knows any good places to catfish around the birmingham area?

I have never fished much in that area but i hear everyone talking a about wheeler is a great place for big cats.

I was raised in Leeds. Haven't been around much in 50 years. We use to fish the Coosa at Gadsden and Pell City. Take 411 to Rainbow City then take a right on 77 it goes through to I-20. There are lots of great looking spots through there but like I said I haven't fished any of them in more than 50 years. Use to jug fish there off 77 and would fill a wash tub with 2-3# cats in a mornings fishing.

we have been fishing Bankhead lake over in the Hueytown/Adger on the west side of town a few miles north of lock 17 and did pretty good last year. We haven't really been able to go much this year due to back injury from a car wreck back in January, but hopefully here in the next month or so we'll be able to hit it pretty hard.
