    Default From Arizona visiting.

I am down here for a buddy's wedding and he's told me I will have some free time between festivities so I have some terminale tackle and a telescoping pole with me and I want to catch some flats. Staying in st. Charles about 5 minutes from the 70 bridge and I am google earth scouting some spots. Any suggestions?

I'm not from around that are but around here the flathead don't bite very good in cold water. Not saying u can't catch some but it going to be tough. U would have better luck with. Blue and Chanel this time of year. But alot of guys on here are from around that area and will help u more than I can. O yea welcome to Missouri.

Blues are on the bucket list for sure but figured this warm weather y'all have had would stir them up for a few days. Are blue gill, carp and bullhead bait? I will be checking ot a few spots tomorrow. Just want to wet the line for a few but man what river. AZ rivers don't compare.

Just downstream from the casino you will find a closed off single lane narrow boat ramp. Pretty shallow now but a giant log jam within casting distance and the ramp will keep you out of the mud. Worth a shot for night fishing right now but I suspect you'd have better luck chasing Blue Cats!

Yes u can use them for bait. (if u can find them ) live shad with a throw net along the banks will be your best ticket for live bait right now. I have been getting small carp while throwing for shad. And yes the miss. River is a monster. Compared to some others. You are not far from the Ohio river. Its even bigger.

My suggestion is for you to wait there until I get there in June with the boat

I am going to MO in late June for my nephews wedding. Bringing the tribe (kids+dogs) and the boat. We will be fishing Mark Twain Lake mainly, but might spend a day or two on the Missouri River.

No need in going to the mo. River! Mark twain lake has some monster flathead and blues in it. And not that hard to catch. I'm only a hour or little more from it. U can jug fish or set lines in it to.

Parents live in Mexico. That is where we will be staying so that is only an hour or so away. Last time there I didn't have the boat so we fished from shore on the river below the dam, but did not have much luck.

Found the website for the general store over there this past winter. Can't believe all the 50lb+ flats that have came out of there over the last few years. I am looking forward to spending some time on the water there fishing for flats with my dad.

Ace-if you can make it that far Mark Twain might be a good place

I'm going out in the morning to do some bank fishing for blues. Give me a shout if you want to hang. I'm only about 15mins from where you are. 314-915-5512 Chuck.

If I had more time I would. I will come back through next year though.
