I fished across the river from Kingston Stm Plt yesterday. Some carp fishermen were there who had the fancy beepers and flashing lights for bite detectors and stationary rod holders, some nice set ups fishing with corn and boilies. Well, they had better luck on catfrish than I did but they were in the best spot. They were in town and had been fishing for five days and had caught several cats also up to 9 pounds. Biggest carp they caught was like 23 pounds. I couldn't buy a bite on cut skipjack. Got a few bites on bluegill fillets and bluegill heads but no hookups. Only thing I caught was one white bass, one shellcracker, and a couple bluegill, all on nightcrawlers. Later I moved upstream to Melton Hill Dam and no one was fishing but the water was moving. Not looking too good there at all this year. Then I went to my wife's workplace up the road near the county line and fished the pond only a few minutes and caught 3 or 4 bluegill and a bass. Also a game warden came and checked my license. He wasn't aware of the proposed regulations on the limit of 50 to 100 skipjack but had heard lots of striper fishermen fussing because they were getting scarce and tired of out of staters hauling out 8-10 coolers.

We fished there on the 22nd and did okay. We anchored our boat about 600 yards out from the boat ramp there at Kingston Fossil Plant. Used live and cutbait shad and did pretty well. My brother in law caught a nice blue that weighed in at close to 34 lbs.

Good to see a new member on here Kickapooh, and glad to see you had some luck. That's an awesome area to fish.

Looks like Friday I'll probably go fishing from about daylight until 2:00 pm or so on Watts Bar from the bank. Don't know whether to go the tailwaters of Melton Hill Dam, tailwaters of Ft. Loudoun Dam, below Tellico Dam, around the steam plant or try the point across from Ladd's Landing......Never had much luck in the canal that connects Ft. Loudoun and Tellico Lake but it sure looks good.

Last Friday I finally went and checked the wall out at Kingston Steam Plant, fish were being caught but I went unprepared and got there a little late. All I got was a small channel cat and missed several bites. I saw three lines popped where fishermen didn't have a landing net and tried to handline their catches up the wall. 2 were blue cats and one was a smallie that looked to be at least 5 lbs.
