Took the boat to Melton hill tail waters today. Fished about an hour before the generators came on. Caught 4 big carp 10# range and a small channel. After the water came on I didn't get a hit. Was hoping for skip jack but not a one Shad came in about an hour after the water came on and I cast netted about 5 gallon. Would have liked more but a severe thunder storm ran me off the water. News said 5 cars were struck by lightning about 5 miles away.

We went to the Little Emory River today but all we caught were some tiny crappie less than 6" long, some yellow and white bass and yellow perch about the same size. We did get one decent size white bass but turned it loose. One of the yellows was hooked very deeply and going to die anyway, I cut its head off and fished it on bottom, got one good bite but didn't hook him. Probably a catfish I imagine. The wind was blowing so much the water was whitecapping and we got run off also because of the weather.

If You can get to the wall by the generators at melton hill that is the spot when the turbines are off right now. The carp are a lot of fun and I have a bag of filets for bait. I hope to go back next week and get enough shad for the summer. The roller trailer I bought is great for loading and launching the boat. Doctor told me to do what I feel like now.

Went to Melton Hill tailwaters about 11:00 A.M. Caught about 5 gallons of shad. drifted with live shad and used white twister tails for skippies after the generators started. Did not get a hit. Called it quits about 4:00.

I hope to go catfishing later in the week. Should be tareing it up right now. I have been going mostly for bait and a couple of bank fishing trips. Have bait will fish. Gills are my choice for big cats.

Stopped by the Kingston Steam plant yesterday. The Game Warden was there writing a ticket. This guy had caught a Sturgeon about 2 feet long. He said he walked to his car to take a picture of the fish and got a ticket for not releasing it imediately. If you catch one treat it like it is on fire. First one I have seen and would have had no idea what it was had I caught one.

I went fishing at the telico-loudon canal last monday and skunked out. I am hoping next week I can post some good news.
