I release everything over 12 lbs and i have never kept more than three flatheads in one season.Channel cats are more plentiful so i use them to stock the freezer.Leaving an apex predator in place to do it's job makes for a healthier ecosystem.

I dont keep any fish except bait I dont eat fish use too but got some bad one time now I wont eat it so no reason to keep them

I voted " release them all " but we do have a fish fry once a year and we only keep Cats under 10 lb.
We cooked maybe 6 flat heads and a few Channels last year.

Anything over 15lbs goes back. But last season I only kept one flathead the was 12lbs.

If I'm fishing alone, I release all of them. But if I'm fishing with a friend who wants a mess of fish, I'll let them take them.
