Default Cape fear and North East Cape Tips

I live in Burgaw on the North east cape fear. I just got started fishing catfish with rod and reel, and just wondering what tips you can give me. I have done alot of bush hooks, and had good luck. I found that rod and reel is more challenging and more rewarding. So far all we have done is rode around and marked fish, tossed the anchor and waited. I have caught a few fish doing this. Do you guys set up somewhere and wait or do you drift? Any help would be appreciated.

I /we mainly anchor to fish ,but this year I,m going to try some drifting ,to see if that will help on the North East . Also try fishn where you have had good luck with your bush hooks .

Thanks jollymon, I was going to try and get up with you guys some time. I live just up the road from your sons house. I just got back from the creek, it looks a lot better now that it has been cleaned up and had the stumps marked. I might try and get out there tomorrow, I'll let know how we do.
