Slow day for us but the little got his first blue of the year... Proud day for dad.

Got skunked today. Tried shad guts, sides, bluegill, and managed to find one big shad floating in the surf which didn't help.
Everything seemed right but evidently the fish didn't get the memo.
Hitting it hard tomorrow, rain be damned.
Im wanting to get in on some of this Milford action, and I have some time off so I think im going to head up there this week and give it a try. I have shad frozen from last year will it work at all for trying to catch a blue ?
Kinda hate to post my report with you guys struggling today, but I caught the heck out of them.
Daniel, the fozen will work, but hands down if you can find any to catch in a net fresh is far better. Might be able to get you out in the boat Wednesday, have to check some schedules first
Slow day in my boat as well......
A few decent blues, but had some nice channels....18 or 19 fish total.
The fish are skinny this year with minimal shad winter kill, not gonna expect anything spectacular this spring!
I guess we need to define slow day. :-) By Bryan's standards I had a slow day as well, guess I better elevate my game...Haha!
The weather guy's wind forecast was right on though!
Good job on the fish Josh!
The wind did get out of contol this afternoon. Thanks Bryan, looking forward to getting out on the lake with you in a few weeks....wind permitting??? :-)
Well, judging from Josh's post and some of the others, reckon we had a pretty fair day from the shore. A BIG SCHOOL of Bluecats from 3 to 8lbs, and 2 Channels. Caught some on frozen(shad) cut bait, some on fresh shad.
Here's the pics of two of the biggest. Had one was just under 11lbs. the two pictures have two just under 12lbs.
Does'nt much look like it in the pics, but both of them had some really big bellys. All the others we caught were pretty much pretty full in the gut.
And now I'm gonna go move the clocks and make myself lose an hours sleep, which I probably won't![]()
