Jacksonville lake

Does anyone fish this lake for Catfish? Can a person catch large catfish in this lake or is mainly a bass lake?

I drive past there on the way to Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Park, but have never fished there. It would be nice to know if they have a good population of Cats in that lake, always looking for new places too fish. If JEPC isn't too far for you too drive, Prairie lake has some nice cats in it.

Thanks for the information. I have never been to pather creek but we have talked about going up there. Is there a limit on motor size for prairie lake?

I think the limit is 10hp at any speed, and larger motors can run at idle speed. I took my pontoon boat with 60hp and putting around with it at idle was all I needed to do anyway. There's lots of structure all around the lake that makes for good fishing. Also, 6 catfish limit per day.

Yes you can catch nice cats at Lake Jacksonville. 5-10lbers are common. I'm not certain how big they get though.
