Any Tips on catching walleye?

I live in north mo. And fish rivers around here that hold alot of walleye. Med to heavy current and alot of slack water also. Also have lakes around here that hold walleye also. Any tips on how to catch them would be much app. Water temp here is around 41 in the rivers and 38 in the lakes I fish. Thanks in advance for any help.

we catch several on Beaver and tablerock lakes throwing a jerk bait bass fishin in the winter

There is a Rapala lure called a Tail dancer, its a toothy fishes dream, I catch the hell out of wallys at stockton with them and truman too, they are in the muskie section at BPS, caught I bet 50 muskies at pomme on them too but they were the biggest ones, fish with teeth just love them, get the one with dark green top and chartruse belly and HOLD ON

3 to 5 inch swim bait in shad or crawfish colors or good old jig tiped with a minnow works to.trolling a number 5 or number 7 shad rap in perch or crawfish colors works also.

will have to give them a try thanks. What about winter time though like now? I was at truman today but no waleye. caught lots of blues from 20ld on down though. I know the eyes start moving up to the dam soon. I went last year and fished off the rocks and caught couple 6 pounder eyes. i cant remember when i went down there though. think it was end of april. when is the best time at truman for w-eyes?

I am for sure going to try the swim bait this year! seen them on infisherman throwing them and pulling in some pigs. thanks for the tips.

sorry for the dumb question! what is a jerk bait? I dont fish for much other fish than cats.

i aint country hart but a jerk bait is also called a stick bait.its a floating lure that imatates minners and you real it down to the desired depth and jerk it two or three times then let it sit a second are two then jerk it a time or 2 and repete till out the strike zone.you can also troll it and just give it a foot or two pull ever once in a while.

Looks like a Smithwick rogue. The baits i usually throw are made by Luckycraft or megabass. They run about 15 feet deep and suspend when you stop reelin.
